Sysformance AG purchases the assets of Nettraffic Internet Performance GmbH, Hamburg

SWISS INTERNET QUALITY ASSURANCE COMPANY EXPANDS IN GERMANY

Zürich 14. March 2002 "Sysformance AG purchases the assets of Nettraffic Internet Performance GmbH, Hamburg, Germany. "Motivated by our complementary geographic markets, Germany and Switzerland, and similar online performance monitoring services, we have been planning a cooperation between the two companies since mid 2001" commented Simon Poole and Irene Heinen, the CEOs of Sysformance and Nettraffic. After Nettraffic went in to receivership on the 1st of February the deal with Sysformance was arranged in a very short time.

Nettraffic was founded in 1999 and, with venture capital backing, started offering performance monitoring services of commercial websites beginning mid 2000. The company ran in to financial problems after attempts to secure further funding in 2001 failed. The companies offer e-commerce service operators around-the-clock availability and performance monitoring services from view point of the end customer. The systems utilize probes that are located with Internet Service Providers at strategic location in the Internet. The premise, basic to the formation of both companies, was the need for e-commerce operators to know that the millions invested in an Internet strategy have been effectively spent and that they are actually reaching the targeted audience. Both companies originally developed systems with a national flavor. "These will remain available for our customers in the current form. Medium term we will integrate the systems and add an European focus." commented Simon Poole on the business strategy of the combined companies. Together the companies will operate around 20 probe locations, 11 of them in Germany. Sysformance AG expects a breakeven result in 2002, despite the increased costs from the purchase. Irene Heinen, co-founder and CEO of Nettraffic will continue as an consultant to Sysformance AG.

The Swiss companies AVANTEC AG, der GFR Software Solutions AG und Simon Poole founded Sysformance AG in 1999.The company offers external online monitoring- and measurement services for operators and users of Internet-Services. The web server, the firewall or any Internet application can be monitored from the consumers point of view. In the case of an outage or other problem, the system automatically generates SMS, pager, E-Mail or Fax alerts. Detailed measurement and diagnostic information is stored online and can be accessed over the Internet at any time, and allows expedient fault analysis and repair. Performance and availability graphics and statistics help the customer optimize their Internet systems. The Sysformance services address the urgent need for security, high quality and frictionless business processes on the Internet.
