The alarm system monitors all critical systems and provides you with appropriate alerts in the event of breakdown, faulty or excessively slow operation. The alerts are graded according to the seriousness of the fault and sent via e-mail and/or SMS.

Load time

This alarm is raised when the loading time of a complete web page exceeds a pre-determined value.

Fault rate

A fault rate is calculated from the number of elements contained in the web page and the number of faults registered. The alarm is raised when the fault rate exceeds a pre-determined value.

Keywords

The use of keywords allows the content of a web page and so its function to be monitored. The alarm is raised when the positive keywords are not found or a negative word is present.

In order to avoid unnecessary alarm signals and disturbances due to short-time / intermittent faults, a fault must be registered by a pre-determined number of sensors before the alarm is reported to the appropriate person / office.

The various escalation levels of an alarm can be determined in two ways.

Time

When defining the operational conditions for an alarm system a time factor for a given alarm can be fixed. Should the alarm situation continue beyond this time limit it moves to the next escalation stage and the recipient is notified accordingly.

Threshold values(s)

When Nettraffic test is defined it can included any number of threshold alarm conditions e.g. if the load time exceeds 4 seconds the Webmaster should be notified, and if it exceeds 8 seconds the department leader.
